This Week in Forsyth 🗓

New Panda Express Arrives in South Forsyth

Amazing news for often-hungry South Forsyth residents landed this week. A new Panda Express is arriving just across from The Collection at Forsyth on July 7th. At 9:30 AM, there will be a grand opening during which the first 88 customers will receive free shirts with any purchase at this new location. The restaurant received its Forsyth County business license this week, officially making it the newest addition to the Peachtree Parkway commercial corridor. The land it sits on is part of a brand-new mixed-use development called Forsyth Town Center. This development is led by Fuqua Development and will also soon be home to a new Whole Foods later this year.

Coming Soon to Cumming City Center

One new business opened up in Cumming City Center this week, with another stating it’s coming soon. On Friday, The Black Nine Golf officially announced they were opened up in the CCC. This indoor gold simulator will likely bring many seasoned golf veterans and fun-seeking families to the center. Tavern off the Green, a new sports bar, also announced that they are opening up soon in Cumming City Center. Both of these businesses, combined with Simple Man Distillery (which also opened up recently), filled up the City Center’s leases. The CCC now says that they are fully leased on their website. These new arrivals only make it more exciting to think about what new additions the development will take on in the future.

Development Watch 👀

Southard Exchange Brings First Shake Shack to FoCo

Southard Exchange is an upcoming commercial retail center arriving soon in West Forsyth. The development is going to be 16.94 acres big and sit at the intersection of Bethelview Road and Castleberry Road. It won’t be too far from The Collection at Forsyth. The development is led by Abernathy Development Company and will feature eight outparcel buildings in a triangular layout.

Southard Exchange will feature the first Shake Shack in Forsyth County. A permit was filed for the restaurant; however no opening dates have been announced yet. Based on what is known so far, Shake Shack will share the development with a new Chick-fil-A, 7 Brew Coffee, Fifth Third Bank, and a Maepole. Because of public lease commencement information, the first ones to open out of these are expected to be Fifth Third Bank (expected in August), and 7 Brew Coffee (expected in September).

The development only brings more certainty that Forsyth’s growth isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Many new restaurants, businesses, offices, and residential areas are opening up in the less developed parts of Forsyth. And eventually, the whole county will be on the same level.

On The Radar 🔜

New Cheesecake Factory Opens in Less Than 3 Weeks

Many have known that a new Cheesecake Factory is coming to The Collection at Forsyth for a while now. The newest location for the restaurant chain is set to open on July 21st, making it less than three weeks until it’s open now. The restaurant is forecasted to add 280 jobs to Forsyth County and will feature the same dishes people love from other locations. The Cheesecake Factory is only one of the several additions that The Collection at Forsyth is doing in 2026, but many would consider it the one that most are looking forward to. Rest assured, the shopping center is going to get much more packed before the end of the Summer.

Forsyth’s First Whole Foods Nears Completion

Another South Forsyth-based project, a new Whole Foods, is coming soon right next to The Collection at Forsyth. Construction began last year in the spring, and it’s expected to be open sometime later this year. It’s coming to the same development as the new Panda Express at Forsyth Town Center. This development is also already home to a Chipotle that opened recently. Soon to become the first Whole Foods in Forsyth County, many shoppers are going to be happily buying their organic groceries and high quality ingredients in due time.
